Taking place in a future where a deadly virus is terrorizing Tokyo, BETTERMAN finds the fate of the world resting in the hands of two mysterious do-gooders. One is the shadowy Akamatsu Industries, an organization disguised as a machine factory that actually fights the virus with neurally enhanced weapons. The other is Betterman, a lone warrior dedicated to saving the citizens of his beloved metropolis. In these episodes, the Betterman transformation forces the Mode Warp team to think long and hard about its future. Later, the members of the team find themselves attacked both in their dreams and in their waking hours, forcing them to realize a new power may be trying to take over the Earth.
